Université de Saint-Boniface evacuated due to suspicious package
Winnipeg police responded to a call about a suspicious package at the university on Monday morning.
The package was found in the lobby of the university's Taché Hall. The building was evacuated and police were called to the scene.
Police say the package was a small, brown cardboard box with wires coming out of it.
The Winnipeg Police Service Bomb Disposal Unit was called to the scene and they detonated the package.
The package was determined to be a hoax.
The university has since been reopened and classes have resumed.
There were no injuries reported.
Police are investigating the incident.
