Gladbach sporting director reveals transfer strategy
Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Roland Eberl has outlined the club's transfer strategy for the summer, with a focus on signing young, talented players who can be developed into stars.
One of the players Gladbach are interested in is Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Palhinha.
Eberl said: "We are very interested in Joao Palhinha. He is a young, talented player who has a lot of potential. We believe that he can be a valuable addition to our squad.
Palhinha is a defensive midfielder who has been capped by Portugal at under-21 level. He is known for his tackling ability, passing range and physical strength.
Gladbach are not the only club interested in Palhinha, with Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur also reportedly keen on signing him.
However, Eberl is confident that Gladbach can persuade Palhinha to join them.
He said: "We have a good reputation for developing young players. We have a good team, and we play in a good league. We believe that we can offer Joao Palhinha a great platform to develop his career."
If Gladbach can sign Palhinha, it would be a major coup for the club. He is a player with the potential to become one of the best midfielders in Europe.
