The Boston Celtics opened the 2024 NBA Finals with a resounding 107-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night. Kristaps Porzingis made his return from a calf injury and contributed 20 points, but it was not enough to overcome the Celtics' dominance.

The Celtics led by double digits for the entire second half after taking a 59-43 halftime lead. They shot 54.2% from the field compared to 38.6% for the Mavericks. They also outrebounded the Mavericks 45-33 and dished out 25 assists to Dallas' 17.
